Role Overview
The Opening Shift Sandwich Artist plays a crucial role in preparing the restaurant for the day. This team member ensures the store is clean, stocked, food‑safe, and ready to deliver excellent customer service from the moment doors open. Reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store Opening Duties
* Arrive on time and complete all opening procedures.
* Turn on equipment (ovens, proofer, toaster, POS, lights, etc.).
* Check temperatures and complete morning logs.
* Prepare the sandwich line with fresh vegetables, meats, cheeses, and sauces.
* Bake bread and cookies according to Subway standards.
* Ensure the dining area and front counter are clean and presentable.
2. Food Preparation & Safety
* Follow all Subway food safety guidelines and hygiene standards.
* Rotate stock using FIFO.
* Maintain clean and sanitized workstations.
* Handle food safely to avoid cross‑contamination.
3. Customer Service
* Greet customers warmly as soon as the store opens.
* Build sandwiches accurately and efficiently following Subway build charts.
* Provide friendly, helpful service and answer customer questions.
* Process orders through the POS system and handle payments.
4. Operational Support
* Restock ingredients and packaging throughout the shift.
* Assist with deliveries when required.
* Maintain cleanliness of the store, including dishes, floors, and prep areas.
* Communicate any issues (equipment, stock shortages, safety concerns) to management.

Experience & Requirements
* No prior experience required; training provided.
* Food handling experience is an advantage.
* Must be available for early morning starts.
* Must follow Subway uniform and grooming standards.

Job Type: Casual
Pay: $13.28 – $32.06 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
