Midwifery Career Advancement Opportunity
The Graduate Diploma of Midwifery at Northern Health is an exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses to advance their careers in midwifery.
Job Summary:
This role involves providing high-quality patient care, supporting breastfeeding and mother-crafting, and working collaboratively with obstetrics and gynaecology teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Admission and discharge planning, assessing, caring and advocating for birthing people and their families through their child birthing and new parenting journey
* Supporting breastfeeding and mother-crafting
* Working collaboratively with the obstetrics and gynaecology, social work, Koori maternity services, perinatal mental health and physio teams
Clinical Placement Opportunities:
Students will have opportunities for clinical placement in postnatal ward, birth suite, antenatal clinic and neonatal nursery, receiving support from experienced Clinical Midwifery Educators, Clinical Support Midwives and Midwifery and Neonatal teams.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Nursing
* Current National Police History Check
* Current Working with Children Check
* Registered Nurse as per APHRA registration
* Recent acute medical/surgical experience (minimum 12 months)
