Lead Environmental Sustainability Manager
Drive impactful change by leading a dedicated team to shape environmental resilience and conservation efforts.
This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing all environmental management, sustainability, and climate adaptation initiatives. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and reviewing environmental programs, policies, and action plans that foster a positive culture and ensure strategic objectives are met.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and implementing conservation and sustainability strategies, policies, and projects that promote environmentally friendly practices.
* Overseeing the delivery of environmental programs, including climate mitigation and resilience, sustainability, and conservation initiatives.
* Providing direction, mentoring, and support to the Environment team to align with strategic objectives and foster a positive work environment.
* Driving community engagement and education initiatives to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices.
* Proactively identifying and pursuing grant funding opportunities to support environmental initiatives.
* Ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities and legislative requirements.
To be successful, you will need:
* A Tertiary Degree in Sustainability, Climate Change, Environmental Science, or a related field with relevant experience, or a lesser formal qualification with extensive relevant experience.
* Demonstrated experience in an environment/sustainability leadership role within a multi-functional environment.
* Knowledge and experience in natural resource management issues, including biodiversity management, climate change adaptation, and mitigation.
* Well-developed financial management skills, including experience in writing grant applications, budget development, and management.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams and stakeholders.
Desirable experience includes local government knowledge and experience in policy development and project management.

Salary Range: $105,000 - $118,000 + Superannuation
