About the Role
As the Coordinator WHS, youâll play a vital role in upholding and advancing Job Pathwaysâ Work Health and Safety standards across the Kimberley. Working within our Corporate Services Team, youâll lead WHS programs, ensure legislative compliance, support staff safety across remote sites, and help embed a culture of continuous safety improvement.
Frequent travel to remote locations (including overnight stays) is a key part of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure Compliance: Maintain alignment with the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA), codes of practice, and Job Pathwaysâ internal policies.
* Drive Safety Practices: Plan and conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments. Lead incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions are taken.
* Deliver Training & Engagement: Facilitate WHS inductions, toolbox talks, and emergency response exercises to empower staff and promote safety awareness.
* Maintain Records: Ensure WHS documentation, including incidents, audits, risk assessments, and test & tag registers, are accurate and up to date.
* Coordinate WHS Committees: Lead WHS Committee meetings and support Safety Representatives across all Job Pathways sites.
* Electrical Safety & Test and Tag: Perform testing and tagging of equipment and maintain a detailed register.
* Promote Cultural Safety: Work in a culturally responsive manner when engaging with Aboriginal clients, staff, and communities.
Qualifications & Experience
* Demonstrated experience in Work Health and Safety, including risk management and incident response.
* Strong communication skills â both written and verbal â including the ability to build rapport and resolve issues constructively.
* High-level organisational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Experience using a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT) for electrical safety checks.
* Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 27001) highly regarded.
What Youâll Need
* Tertiary or vocational qualifications in WHS (or equivalent experience â highly desirable).
* A current C Class driverâs licence (essential).
* Ability to travel regularly, including overnight stays.
* First Aid Certificate.
* National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
