Senior Medical Secretary/Typist Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical secretary/typist to join our client's team at an established private specialist practice in Greenslopes, Brisbane.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional patient rapport building skills along with the ability to work within a team environment, providing front desk reception, clinic support, and medical typing assistance to each specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take incoming telephone calls and assist patients with general enquiries
* Clinical bookings and confirm patient appointments
* Prepare and run patient clinics
* Manage patient DVA travel arrangements
* Process patient billing and receipting (including inpatient/surgery billing)
* Provide written information consents and procedure estimations to patients
* Book patient x-rays and scans
* Book theatre procedures and prepare patients with relevant theatre packs
* Hospital inpatient and outpatient bookings
* Medical typing of general correspondence, Medicolegal reports, and WorkCover reports
* General secretarial support to the specialists as required
Requirements:
* At least 3 years' experience working in a similar role (preferably within a surgical specialist practice)
* Experience using Genie software
* Exceptional communication and organisational skills
* Knowledge of Medicare, DVA, Private Health Fund, and Defence billing processes
* Fast and accurate typing skills
* Maturity, solid work ethic, and impeccable personal presentation
Benefits:
A competitive hourly rate ranging from $30 to $38 per hour, plus superannuation, will be offered to the successful candidate with the appropriate experience.
