Council is seeking a full-time Plant Operator with demonstrated ability to operate a variety of medium and heavy mechanical plant. This position is based out of Council’s Casterton depot. As part of the
Works team, the Plant Operator is responsible for undertaking a range of civil construction and infrastructure maintenance works across Shire. The role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a range of plant to undertake tasks associated with the construction and maintenance of roads, drainage, paths, bridges, street furniture and general maintenance.
What you need to Succeed
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence is essential.
- Heavy Combination Licence is essential.
- Relevant Plant and Equipment tickets and licences.
- Basic computer skills.
- General knowledge and understanding of road construction and maintenance techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in safe and efficient operation of construction plant and specialist equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness and physical capacity to carry out key duties of the position including manual labour.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to learn new techniques and work practices.
