Our organization is seeking a skilled Field Technician to join our team. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in telecommunications and networking.
Job Description
As a Field Technician, you will be required to:
• Build and install telecommunications cubicles and equipment for clients in the energy sector.
• Test, commission, and diagnose faults in communications systems across multiple client sites.
• Work both remotely (client sites) and from our office/workshop, supporting a range of telecommunications projects.
Project Collaboration
• Collaborate with a team of specialists to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to technical documentation, commissioning, and testing activities.
Key Skills and Qualifications
• Demonstrated hands-on experience as a field technician in industrial environments, with strong skills in telecommunications DC systems, rack/cubicle/cabinet installation, cabling (optic fibre, copper, data, ELV power), optical fibre handling and testing, and IP networking and security infrastructure.
• Exposure to the electricity utility or heavy industry sectors, knowledge of LAN/WAN, radio and multiplexer systems, and proficiency in technical documentation and commissioning/testing are highly regarded.
• Minimum Certificate III (or higher) in Telecommunications, along with an Open Cablers License, construction induction card (white card), and a current Australian Driver's License are essential.
