You will modernise and automate reporting processes, strengthen data governance, and establish the foundations for AI/ML readiness by embedding ethical guardrails and clear data lineage.

In this role, you will set enterprise standards and governance for reporting and analytics, lead a clear prioritisation cadence, and oversee a single reporting calendar and service catalogue that drives consistency and transparency. You will retire redundant practices, champion automation across the reporting lifecycle, and build AI/ML readiness with strong data stewardship and auditable lineage. Above all, you will ensure trusted insights are easy to access and act on, enabling reliable, compliant, and future‑ready internal and regulatory reporting.

Key indicators:

* Lead Logan Water's reporting and analytics operating model, including governance, standards, and lifecycle management.
* Map and modernise the analytics landscape, retiring redundant practices and introducing automation and streamlined workflows.
* Build enterprise‑ready data capability to support advanced analytics and future AI/ML use cases.
* Deliver timely, accurate, and auditable reporting to meet internal, corporate, and regulatory obligations (including NPR, SWIMLocal, and QLD Government requirements).
* Develop and maintain strong data governance frameworks aligned with Council and Logan Water strategic objectives.
* Partner with stakeholders across Operations, Service Quality, Customer Advocacy, ICT, and corporate functions to align measures, insights, and priorities.
* Provide subject matter leadership in business intelligence, KPI definition, data quality, and evidence‑based decision‑making.
* Champion a culture of insight‑driven performance, capability uplift, and continuous improvement.
* Communicate insights simply and effectively to drive decision‑making and operational action.

You'll possess

* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business, or related disciplines, or equivalent professional experience.
* Advanced proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Excel, Access, and experience building automated reporting solutions.
* Experience working with enterprise data systems such as TechOne/XLOne, GIS platforms, SCADA, and integrated operational systems.
* Strong understanding of data management, governance, data modelling, and lifecycle management.
* Knowledge of regulatory and corporate reporting frameworks (e.g., NPR, SWIMLocal).
* Capability to build or support AI/ML models and experience introducing, implementing, or maintaining advanced analytics solutions.
* Exceptional data visualisation and storytelling skills, turning complex information into actionable insights.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly in highly technical and operational contexts.
* Ability to analyse complex data from multiple systems and develop practical solutions.

Highly regarded

* Experience in the water utility sector or other asset‑intensive, highly regulated industries.
* Experience with generative AI, predictive analytics, and machine learning models.
* Familiarity with ITIL service management principles and digital governance frameworks.
* Change management or business analysis certifications (CBAP, PMI‑PBA).
