**The opportunity**:
The distribution service will operate across all 4 hospital health sites according to a specific schedule. Pharmacy Ward Distribution Coordinator will perform activities including, but not limited to:
- Imprest distribution
- Imprest distribution management including stock rotation, and returns
- Report any anomalies to pharmacy and/or EBOS
This opportunity is a Permanent Full Time position with Symbion Pty Ltd (a division of EBOS Healthcare), based at Alfred Health in Melbourne, Monday - Friday, 5 days per week, variable hours, rostered hours will be within 7:30am - 6pm, some weekends, and public holidays when requested. These positions involve distributing hospital pharmaceutical products to Hospital Services throughout Victoria.
**What you will do**:
Imprest Supply to Wards
- Distribute medications (Imprest) to wards, departments and sub-stores, and liaise with the Hospital pharmacy distribution manager regarding any stock matters
- Collection of imprest supplies from the store and delivery to wards and departments
- Quick and efficient delivery of items including those requiring specific storage or cold chain maintenance
- Unpacking imprest orders and checking of goods against supplier delivery records
- Replenishment of automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) i.e., Omnicell (training will be provided)
- Immediate communication to hospital pharmacy distribution manager officer regarding supply issues
- Maintain accurate placement of goods received in imprest locations including refrigerated items
- Rotate stock, monitor expiry dates and stock levels of all imprest stock in ward and pharmacy areas
- Maintain clean and orderly pharmaceutical storage
- Ensure appropriate signage e.g., out of stock notices and shelf talkers are in place on imprest
- Monitor storage condition of pharmaceuticals in wards and escalate any issues to the distribution manager
- Ensure records are maintained according to local standard operating procedures.
- Ensure all documentation filing including medicines related records is kept up to date and archived as necessary, following legal requirements for the retention of pharmaceutical and other records.
Required duties
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, particularly relating to the Key Performance Indicators of the department
- Complete all mandatory training and credentialing required for the position
- Identify gaps in training and/or education and bring to the attention of the Hospital Pharmacy Distribution Manager
- Attend relevant departmental meetings
- Perform other duties as delegated by the Hospital Pharmacy Distribution Manager
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff within and outside the department
- Demonstrate initiative, responsibility, efficiency, co-operation and enthusiasm
- Demonstrate effective and courteous communication skills
- Promote pharmacy teamwork by building effective workplace relationships
