SAIC Innovation Engineer Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented systems engineer to join our elite Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) team supporting an innovations lab in Australia.
The successful candidate will contribute to the success of the government and the SAIC team by:
* Providing technical and programmatic support to the government for all lab activities.
* Providing subject matter expertise to customer leadership on emerging technologies, including AI, and initiatives related to space systems capabilities.
* Advising customer and enterprise leadership on the efficacy of planned lab initiatives, including cost, schedule, performance, risk, and opportunities.
* Advising customer leadership on operational efficiencies, including systematic and innovative allocation of limited resources.
* Representing the customer in evaluating impacts to site architecture driven by capability changes and customer decisions; assessing innovative concepts and emerging lab capabilities for potential transition onto operational baselines.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical Support: Provide technical and programmatic support to the government for all lab activities.
* Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise to customer leadership on emerging technologies, including AI, and initiatives related to space systems capabilities.
* Efficacy Assessment: Assess the effectiveness of planned lab initiatives, including cost, schedule, performance, risk, and opportunities.
* Operational Efficiency: Advise customer leadership on operational efficiencies, including systematic and innovative allocation of limited resources.
* Situation Analysis: Analyze the impact of capability changes and customer decisions on site architecture, and assess innovative concepts and emerging lab capabilities for potential transition onto operational baselines.
Qualifications
* Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen.
* Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph, both current within 4 years prior to start.
* Education: Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) field required, and nine (9) years or more relevant experience; master's and seven (7) years or more relevant experience.
* Experience: At least seven (7) years of hands-on systems engineering experience, including preparation of necessary system engineering artifacts.
* Expertise: Demonstrated expertise across the full systems engineering lifecycle and project management.
* Communication: Ability to identify potential engineering opportunities and communicate them effectively to customer decisionmakers.
* Project Management: Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and effectively interact with engineers, project managers, support personnel, and senior decisionmakers.
* Requirements Gathering: Experience gathering and identifying actionable requirements for new capabilities.
* Tech Savvy: Familiarity with DevOps, DevSecOps, Agile development, AI, Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering, and associated tools.
* Interpersonal Skills: Polished communicator with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment.
* JIRA and Confluence: Hands-on JIRA and Confluence experience for intra- and inter-team communications.
* Microsoft Office: Expert user in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio.
Desired Qualifications
* IT and Cybersecurity: IT and cybersecurity familiarity, including cloud operations, layered defense, and risk.
* AI Experience: Hands-on AI experience, especially model development using large data sets.
* Cyber Certification: Active cyber certification at DoD 8140 IAT Level 2 (i.e., Security+ CE).
* Briefings and Analysis: Experience developing briefings, analysis, etc. on short deadlines (8 hours or less).
* R&D Experience: Hands-on experience in an R&D environment as a researcher.
* Executive Support: Experience supporting senior executive level government officials.
