Our five-year Strategic Plan is focused on growing as an innovative, responsive and better-connected health service provider for all Australians.Watch stories about our people, patients and the communities we serve at About this OpportunityThe RFDS SA/NT Remote Oral Health Care Program offers a mobile dental and oral health care service to residents and communities throughout rural and remote South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia.Our regular 'fly-in' clinics mean people of all ages living in remote locations can access high-quality dental care at no cost. With state-of-the-art mobile dental equipment, our team provides dental care ranging from simple check-ups, x-rays and hygiene services, through to fillings and extractions. The team consists of experienced and caring oral health professionals including Dentists, Dental Hygienists and Dental Assistants.Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Primary Care and Clinical Safety and Quality, the Manager Oral Health Program is responsible for the operational management and leadership of the Oral Health service team. You will oversee service delivery, planning, clinical and workforce safety and continuous quality improvement to achieve the program delivery goals.This is an exciting time to join our team as we continue to expand our dental services within remote South Australia and the Northern Territory. This position requires periods of time away from home, traveling in our state-of-the-art aircraft or driving to our communities.We believe our people - all of our people - keep the Royal Flying Doctor Service flying. Specifically in this role, you will:- Manage the oral health service and delivery of clinical care within the funded program guidelines, including-Preventive services and oral health education tailored to patients' requirements, oral health screening, development of treatment plans; and-Diagnosis and provision of appropriate dental treatment involving all aspects of general dental practice including extractions and minor oral surgery.- Ensure the RFDS SA/NT meets the continuous quality improvement requirements across the oral health program and maintains clinical safety and quality requirements to meet the requirements of the mandated NSQHS standards framework.- Ensure adequate procedures, policies and training to sustain a safe quality oral health service, recognising the challenges of operating in remote locations in outback South Australia and remote Northern Territory, giving due consideration to the cultural congruence of the service settings.- With the support of the Program Co-ordinator develop the annual 12-month service delivery schedule for SA and NT to ensure safe and effective service continuity and to meet program operational guidelines (POG).- Attend as a member, the Primary Health Clinical Leads Monthly Sub Committee meeting as the service management representative of the Oral Health Team.- Ensure the safety and quality requirements of the service, including clinical KPI data reporting, clinical incident, risk, audit, and CQI activity reporting- Ensure the collection and management of service delivery and patient data for program 6 monthly reporting to FederationAbout YouTo be successful in this role you require demonstrated experience in managing an Oral Health Program, which will include leading a team of autonomous clinicians, management of the service budget and performance KPI's, and contract compliance.You will have a high level of competence in the management of general dental services and complex oral health problems, and a strong understanding of Dental Practice guidelines and standards and ethical codes of conduct.With a sound understanding of population health principles, you will be experienced in contributing to the implementation of an agile and equitable health system, while demonstrating sensitivity to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (First Nations) individuals and communities.Working with a supportive team of Dentists, Hygienists and Assistants you will also possess a willingness to work in non-traditional environments.
