The Position
Siena College, Camberwell seeks to a appoint an engaging and visible leader to the pivotal role of Head of Human Resources. Reporting directly to the Principal and Director of Business Services, this strategic appointment offers an exceptional opportunity to shape the College’s culture and support its dedicated staff. The successful candidate will lead all aspects of human resource management, including recruitment, orientation, compliance, employee relations, and staff wellbeing, for both teaching and non-teaching staff.
The Head of Human Resources will play a central role in supporting strategic priorities, including the integration of HR systems, ongoing policy development, and the management of psychosocial health and compliance. Supported by an HR Coordinator and working closely with the Payroll Specialist, the Head of Human Resources will ensure seamless HR operations and compliance with all relevant legislation and College policies. As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of Human Resources will foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace, ensuring the College’s values and vision are reflected in every aspect of staff experience.
The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in human resource management, preferably within the education sector, and demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. The role demands a calm, action-oriented leader who can navigate operational complexity, drive continuous improvement, and build strong relationships across the College community. Experience in leading IT integrations in a school setting and a strong understanding of teaching structures will be highly regarded.
