About the work unit / facility:

The Charters Towers Health Service is a 23-bed facility located in Charters Towers, Queensland. The facility offers a variety of services to the community including accident and emergency care, general in-patient medical, surgical and paediatric services.

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

* Salary range: $ to $10,221.70 p.f. or $87.25 to $127.77 p.h. (L13 to L27)
* 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading

About your opportunity:

The role Senior Medical Officer involves provision of emergency and inpatient medical services for Charters Towers Hospital: in-patient (acute and long-stay), outpatient and emergency. The local multi-disciplinary team is supplemented by visiting specialist medical, dental, nursing, and allied health services from Townsville Hospital and Health Service, Non-Government Organisations and Private Providers. Telehealth services are utilised frequently to reduce the need for patient travel to Townsville where appropriate.

There is permanent part-time opportunity and fixed term temporary full-time opportunity, up to two years.

Requirements:

* Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration.
* This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
* Probation period may apply.
* Pre-employment checks will be conducted, including criminal history clearance.
