**About the role**
A fixed base opportunity currently exists for an **Aircrew Officer** to join our Aviation & Critical Services team in Bendigo, supporting our operations in Ambulance Victoria.
As part of this role you will:
- Maintain flying currency and conduct safe flight operations complying with CASA, contractual and company policies and procedures;
- Report promptly on all operations and maintenance deficiencies;
- Complete pre-flight and post-flight documentation;
- Interact successfully with aircrew, client staff, health staff and stakeholders;
- Operate safely and efficiently in a small team environment;
- Assist the medical team in patient management and care;
- Provide accurate visual observation and information to the Pilot of flight relevant data including clearances, personnel movements and flight safety related issues;
- Maintain readiness of operational role equipment;
- Perform the duties of an Aircrew Officer/Winch Operator during HEMS and SAR missions;
- Assist with the ongoing maintenance and inspection of base and role equipment;
- Conduct aircraft flight preparation and post-flight husbandry;
- Ensure security and safe configuration of cabin and equipment.
**About You**
Highly passionate about serving a purpose in the community, the Aircrew Officers require essential requirements. They are:
- AW139 experience
- Five hundred (500) hours flight experience
- Relevant experience with night operations
- Demonstratable experience as a Winch Operator over land and water
- Current HUET/HUET with EBS qualification
- Navigation and flight procedures (IFR/VFR, as appropriate)
- NVG qualification
- Communication and radio procedures including holding either a Flight Radiotelephone Operator Licence or Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator Certificate of Proficiency
- Hold a Level 2 Occupational Health and Safety First Aid certification
- Hold a CASA Class 2 Medical Certificate
- Certificate IV Aviation AVI40116 (Aircrewman) or AVI40119 (Aircrew Officer); and
Desirable requirements:
- One hundred and fifty (150) hours exposure to EMS
