Position overview
We are seeking an experienced and student‐focused Learning Facilitator to support the development of final‐year nutrition students within a clinical education environment that combines clinical supervision, student mentoring, and subject facilitation responsibilities.
The role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing emerging practitioners. It involves fostering a supportive professional learning environment while maintaining high standards of clinical education, client care, and academic integrity. This clinic‐supervision position will be based at The Practice Wellbeing Centre, Surry Hills.
Responsibilities
* Manage small or large blended, hybrid, or online classes and ensure student participation.
* Conduct time‐management for personal and student learning activities.
* Prepare and review teaching materials and recommend updates in line with organisational policy and procedures.
* Utilise current subject outlines, teaching materials, student learning resources, and interactive content.
* Draft, review, and update assessment tools; set and mark examination papers as needed.
* Undertake student assessment.
* Maintain evidence of professional development to keep industry expertise current and comply with regulatory standards.
* Contribute to the institution's scholarship profile.
* Collaborate with Torrens Global Education learning support teams and embed them within student learning environments.
* Use learning management system tools and data to monitor engagement and improve student outcomes.
* Attend operational and academic meetings as required.
* Collaborate with other academic staff to influence pedagogy and identify best practice.
* Leverage scholarship, research, and external engagement to continually improve curriculum.
* Develop, write, and submit relevant subject materials following provided templates.
* Support ethical research, scholarship, and community engagement activities aligned with the discipline and university's strategic plan.
* Assist in activities that boost academic engagement and benefit students, including recruitment and retention.
Qualifications
* Significant knowledge of health sciences and nutrition therapeutic subject areas with a broad disciplinary background.
* Experience in education, training, and assessment.
* Master's qualification in Nutrition or a related field and undergraduate clinical training.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in clinical practice as a Clinical Nutritionist or a related field.
* Fluency in collaborative teamwork and commitment to continuous professional development.
* Allied Health Professional Association membership (required).
* Coaching and mentoring experience preferred.
* Competence in working with colleagues and students from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
* Computer literacy in discipline‐specific and learning technologies as required.
* High service ethos and strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Understanding of adult learning principles and scholarship within the discipline.
Employment terms
This is a permanent full‐time role based at our Surry Hills Campus in Sydney. Hybrid working arrangements (2‐3 days on campus and 2 days from home) are offered.
