**About the Opportunity**
Based in Clarence Gardens South Australia, a recent rare and exciting opportunity is available for a hands on Logistics and Distribution Coordinator to join our team.
Reporting to the DC Manager this position is responsible for coordinating the day to day operations of the logistics team on shift.
With leadership, proactivity and energy you need to make sure that customer service is delivered whilst ensuring safety, quality and efficiency is met.
**Key accountabilities of the role are**:
- Coordinate the operations of all shifts, including liaising with all appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate and promote ‘on time and in full’ service in relation to our customer’s needs.
- Ensure corrective/preventative action is taken in instances of potential under or over-supply of product.
- Ensure communication is handled efficiently across all shifts
- Liase with Production PLanning
- Maintain proactive communication between different departments
- Labour Management (Rosters & payroll support) including casuals to ensure teams have the appropriate workforce
- Proactive Performance Management, ensuring employees adhere to all Lactalis policies and procedures.
- Facilitate toolbox talks and staff meetings
- We promote active communication & training
- Ensure standard reporting systems and records are maintained and completed by the end of shift in all areas
- Ensure all orders are picked in full and loaded to plan and all trucks are loaded to meet cold room dispatch time.
- Ensure stock is rotated to support first in first out product flow.
- Ensure daily checking of codes and receipting of stock in the designated timeframe.
- Ensure the cold room temperature is controlled to meet the required Lactalis standard.
- Assist in ensuring the operation performs within the budgetary guidelines
- Coordinate all the Quality checks (GMP, processes, procedures, paperwork)
- Ensure employees adhere to all Lactalis policies and procedures.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all policies, procedures, practices, and legislative requirements etc., that are applicable to your area of responsibility.
- flexibilty to support your operators in different shifts is required
- Ensure Quality and Safety policies and procedures are followed at all times
- Note: some out of hours of work may be required
**About You**
- Experience in FMCG Distribution is highly advantageous
- Experience working in Cold Rooms is desirable
- Supervisory experience
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with initiative
- Strong decision making and planning abilities
- Attention to detail and highly organised
- Strong and active leadership skills to guide, mentor and support staff
- Strong focus on communication and Customer service
- Proactive
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Good written & verbal communication
