About the Position

A unique opportunity exists for innovative and collaborative academics to contribute to the growth of the new Discipline of Speech Pathology within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine. These positions will suit candidates committed to high-quality curriculum design and delivery, student-centred learning, and scholarly contributions to the discipline of Speech Pathology.

Your Core Responsibilities

* Design and deliver high quality curriculum to support student learning, working in partnership with colleagues within the Discipline, across the Faculty and alongside industry partners and the wider community
* Support Work Integrated Learning (WIL) activities, including simulations and placement education – with an opportunity for the right candidate to provide leadership in this area
* Strengthen the scholarship and/or research profile of the Discipline and Faculty through collaborative projects leading to impactful outcomes
* Engage in relevant service and/or leadership activities to enhance the functioning and reputation of the Discipline and to strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders

Additionally, an Assistant Professor is expected to provide independent academic leadership within the Discipline of Speech Pathology; contribute to the development of innovative curriculum and clinical learning experiences; engage in research and scholarship activities – including developing publications, participating in research teams, and supervising postgraduate research students where appropriate; and take on broader service and governance responsibilities, such as quality assurance and major Faculty initiatives, that support the strategic growth and reputation of Bond University's new Discipline of Speech Pathology.

Requirements

Senior Teaching Fellow

* A Master's degree or equivalent professional experience in Speech Pathology or a related field, with interest in undertaking doctoral studies being highly regarded; membership with, or eligibility for membership with, Speech Pathology Australia
* Demonstrated experience in higher education in delivering high quality speech pathology-related curriculum, simulation activities, student placement education or scholarship outputs with impactful outcomes
* Understanding of contemporary approaches to learning and teaching, including delivery through new technologies
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to work collaboratively and effectively with students, academic and professional colleagues, and industry or clinical partners, particularly in the context of establishing a new discipline

Assistant Professor

* A doctoral degree – or progress towards completion of doctoral studies – in Speech Pathology or a related field; membership with, or eligibility for membership with, Speech Pathology Australia
* Significant experience in working independently to design, coordinate and/or deliver high quality speech pathology-related curriculum and/or work-integrated learning (WIL) activities (including placement education)
* Growing or established scholarship and/or research profile including quality publications and the capacity to attract relevant funding and experience supervising Honours or HDR students
* Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to mentor less experienced staff and engage actively in service and professional activities within and beyond the university
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support student learning, mentor academic colleagues, and engage productively with industry and professional partners

Candidates must demonstrate the required levels of teaching, scholarship/research and service as outlined in the position description for each academic level.

Both roles require a strong commitment to teaching excellence, student experience and the establishment and growth of a high-quality Speech Pathology discipline within a private university environment.

Summary

Salary Details

The salary for these positions are outlined below and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, qualifications, and experience.

* Assistant Professor A remuneration commences at $165,010.96 per annum plus 12% superannuation
* Assistant Professor B remuneration commences at $138,836.18 per annum plus 12% superannuation
* Senior Teaching Fellow remuneration commences at $111,294.10 per annum plus 12% superannuation
* increasing to 17.5% after successful completion of a two-year probation.

The Selection Panel will make the determination for the level of appointment.
