Location: Forrestfield
Roster and Remuneration/Benefit: In this position you will work a 3-week rotating roster:
* Week 1: Monday to Saturday – 0630 – 1430
* Week 2: Monday to Friday – 0630 – 1430
* Week 3: Monday to Friday – 1400 – 2200
The successful candidate will be appointed at the base level (Tradesperson Level 5) in accordance with the current Enterprise Agreement. Based on the standard roster and applicable penalty rates (excluding additional overtime), the estimated annual earnings are approximately $123,000.
About the role:
We are seeking a Mechanical Tradesperson to join the Forrestfield Rollingstock Maintenance team. You will be required to service, repair and maintain Rollingstock to ensure the efficient running of freight services. Your responsibilities will include:
* Conduct routine corrective maintenance and fault repair on Rollingstock fleet
* Ensure all work is performed in accordance with technical and operational specifications
* Maintain all records and associated documentation relating to asset condition, maintenance programs and costing systems
* Report on actual work performed against the scheduled work program
* Progress the implementation and application of work procedures and practices in pursuit of ensuring continuous quality improvement.
* Support other WA maintenance depots as per EA agreement
About you:
* Strong dedication to safety
* Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification
* Experience with the repair and maintenance of heavy industrial plant or light vehicles is preferred, but not essential
* Current unrestricted WA driver’s license (Essential). Forklift & HR licence advantageous
* Proven ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings
* Extensive knowledge of equipment functions, defects, and fault-finding
* Experience with SAP Computer Maintenance Systems, SharePoint and General Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a category one rail medical, which include drug and alcohol screening.
