Permanent, part-time opportunity (22-28 hours per week)

This service is one of nine OSHC services that operate as part of the Catholic Diocese of Lismore that operate from Pottsville to Kempsey. The OSHC Coordinator will be supported by a dedicated OSHC Operations Manager based in Lismore.
What you will be doing
The OSHC Coordinator leads a team of Educators within a Catholic primary school setting. The service supports the families of up to 40 children at any time and offers after school care plus school holiday (vacation) programs.
Lead the OSHC service located within the grounds of Mt St Patrick's Primary School (Murwillumbah).
Support the families of up to 40 children at any time with after school care plus busy school holiday programs.
Ensure compliance and safeguarding requirements are strictly adhered to and strong risk management practices are maintained.
Responsible for operational management, including programming, child supervision, financial sustainability and staff recruitment, training, rostering and feedback.
The appointee will be the Nominated Supervisor for the service.
Remuneration and hours of work
The remuneration package for this role is $106,000 (inclusive of salary/temporary allowance $47.26/hour) and leave loading plus 12% superannuation). The salary will be pro‐rata based on negotiated hours.
Hours will be negotiated with the successful candidate over Monday to Friday; however, the successful appointee must be available 2-6pm on weekdays. Additional hours, up to 38 hours total per week, may be available over vacation care periods.
Above rates include the current temporary Worker Retention Payment (allowance) paid under the Australian Government Early Childhood Education and Care Retention Payment.
What we are looking for (selection criteria)
* Demonstrated success in a childcare or teaching role (0-6 or 5-12 years).
* Diploma in Early Childhood Education or Teaching degree, or willing to obtain after commencement.
* Knowledge and understanding of the NQF, NQS and the School Age Learning Framework and Child Care Subsidy system.
* Ability to ensure the service practices align with compliance requirements.
* Strong knowledge in safeguarding principles and demonstrated experience managing the safety of children in a care setting.
* Current First aid and Child Protection certification, or able to obtain prior to commencement.
