Our Federal Government client is seeking an EL1 Practice Manager for an initial 6 month contract with 6 month extension potential
Develop and oversee implementation and evaluation of administrative practices, systems and procedures to optimise the efficient management of the PMU. You will work collaboratively with the existing Practice Managers and contributing to strategic initiatives and high-level matters in support of the departments Legal Branch.
**About the role**:
- Providing high quality operational support to the Legal Branch, including delegating, monitoring progress and quality checking the work of the team
- Plan, manage and provide advice to the Branch Executive Leadership on budgets, ASL, resources and expenditure and monitoring financial performance
- Manage branch finances with our Finance Business Partners, internal and external reporting arrangements, including mandatory reporting requirements
- Drafting and co-ordinating contributions to business planning and branch reporting
- Identify and innovate new or improved ways for the PMU to provide high quality support from an operational, service and culture perspective
- Assist with people management responsibilities (e.g. recruitment and onboarding)
- Prepare complex and/or sensitive correspondence and corporate documentation
- Manage Legal Branch dashboards where required
- Assist with procurement and contract management undertaken in the branch
- Assist with managing various mailboxes and responding within a timely manner
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation through assisting with streamlining processes, communication lines and support services
- Other work as required by the Branch Executive Leadership
