The Barn Steakhouse is an award-winning family-owned, award-winning restaurant located just 7 km outside Mount Gambier in regional South Australia. With a strong reputation for quality food, professional service, and an extensive wine list, the venue offers a premium hospitality experience, combining fine dining with regional charm and a thriving accommodation and function centre, with the capacity for up to 800 guests.
We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Hospitality Supervisor to join our team in a full-time role. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a professional team and take the lead in delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and supervise front-of-house operations to ensure a seamless dining experience.
· Provide visible leadership and support to hospitality staff, conducting daily briefings and on-the-job coaching.
· Recruit, induct, and train staff for service and retail roles.
· Monitor performance and manage rostering, team development, and customer service delivery.
· Ensure compliance with RSA, food safety, and OHS standards.
· Maintain till balancing procedures and complete shift reports.
· Manage inventory, stock control, and order supplies as needed.
· Assist in the promotion of the venue through social media and digital platforms.
· Collaborate with management to maximise revenue and enhance customer experience.
· Maintain high standards of food and beverage service and presentation.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
· Hold a relevant AQF Certificate III and a minimum of 1 years’ experience OR 3 years of relevant work experience to substitute the qualification in a supervisory hospitality role, ideally in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
· Current South Australian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.
· Strong leadership and communication skills with a passion for team development.
· Proven customer service excellence and problem-solving abilities.
· Experience with POS and reservation systems (e.g., Sysnet, Room Master).
· Advanced cocktail and barista knowledge, and familiarity with regional wines.
· Understanding of food handling standards and workplace safety procedures.
· Experience using digital platforms for venue promotion is desirable.
