Purpose of the Role
The Maintenance Planner ensures Royal Nut Company's production and processing equipment runs reliably, safely, and efficiently.
You will plan, coordinate, and monitor maintenance activities, enable minimal downtime, and support preventative maintenance programs.
This role helps align maintenance strategy with business needs, reducing costs and maximizing plant uptime.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and schedule maintenance activities across roasting, blending, packing, and warehouse equipment to ensure smooth, continuous production with minimal downtime.
Coordinate preventive maintenance for food processing machinery, conveyor systems, weighers, sealers, roasters, and packaging lines in alignment with production schedules.
Monitor equipment performance and proactively identify potential mechanical or electrical issues before they impact quality or productivity.
Work closely with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to prioritize maintenance needs and minimize disruption to order fulfilment and dispatch.
Maintain accurate maintenance and service records in compliance with HACCP, food safety, and WHS regulations.
Manage spare parts and maintenance inventory, ensuring critical components are always available and properly stored.
Liaise with external service providers and technicians for specialized repairs or equipment servicing, ensuring high workmanship standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending upgrades, process improvements, and energy-efficient solutions to enhance reliability and sustainability.
Ensure workplace health, safety, and hygiene compliance across all maintenance activities in line with Royal Nut Company's quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
Additional certification in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, or CMMS systems (desirable).
Skills and Experience
Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Coordinator, or similar role within food manufacturing or FMCG.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance principles and scheduling systems.
Familiarity with food safety and quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
Proficient in maintenance management software and record-keeping.
Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
