About the role
You will lead a small team to deliver procurement and contracting services for the organisation.
You'll be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to drive cost savings, process improvements as well as manage supply chain risks such as modern slavery.
It will be important to ensure compliance with EPA policies and Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) requirements.
In this role you will
Formulate and execute comprehensive procurement strategies to optimise processes and achieve significant cost savings and process efficiencies
Manage a team member (Procurement Officer), providing guidance and fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment
Manage contract structures, commercial terms, and any departures, providing expert contract management advice and deferring to legal division when necessary.
Oversee and manage budgets, ensuring expenditures remain within approved limits while identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with EPA policies and legal requirements and prepare detailed and regular reports on procurement performance.
Skills and experience
Substantial experience in procurement, logistics and contract management, preferably within a government setting.
Demonstrated experience in managing a team.
A relevant tertiary degree and/or postgraduate qualifications in procurement, business management, or a related discipline is desirable
Proven Experience in the procurement of ICT goods and services
Knowledge of procurement, logistics, supply chain and contract management.
