Pastoral Leadership Role


Our institution seeks a dedicated Pastoral Leader to support its mission by leading pastoral practices for student welfare. This role ensures programs promote Gospel values, supervises teacher practices, fosters partnerships with families and external entities, manages student behaviour, and oversees resources effectively.



Key Responsibilities:

* Provide leadership in pastoral care for designated students, ensuring their well-being aligns with the institution's mission and values.
* Supervise teachers involved in student pastoral care, offering guidance and support for effective practices.
* Facilitate the induction process for new teachers within your area of responsibility or oversee their induction when handled by other experienced staff.
* Monitor students' holistic development, including academic performance, social interactions, spiritual growth, and physical health, addressing concerns through appropriate measures.
* Coordinate efforts among staff focused on student welfare, fostering teamwork and aligning activities with the institution's ethos.
* Manage student behaviour in line with the institution's behaviour management policies, promoting a safe and respectful environment.
* Organise and oversee pastoral activities such as camps, retreats, and other events that enrich the informal curriculum, collaborating with other personnel as needed.
* Stay updated on best practices in student care and welfare through ongoing professional development and share insights to enhance staff learning.



About You / Qualifications:

* Experience in teaching and leading the teaching of religious education to provide leadership in pastoral care, ensuring the well-being of students aligns with the institution's ethos and values.
* Strong capability to monitor students' holistic development, addressing academic, social, spiritual, and physical concerns as necessary.
* Knowledge of behaviour management practices to promote a safe and respectful learning environment.
* Experience in organising and overseeing pastoral activities such as camps, retreats, or enrichment events, collaborating effectively with relevant personnel.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development, implementing best practices in student care and sharing insights with staff.
* Experience in institution leadership, or a role providing support and leadership to Catholic schools, including strong financial management skills (budget planning and management of material resources).
* Hold Accreditation to Teach Religion in a Catholic School, or equivalent from another Diocese.
* This position requires you to be Catholic.
