Details: This role sits within the Human Rights Branch which advises on policy and law reform and administers initiatives related to human rights, social policy, anti-discrimination, victims of crime, disability justice, justice reform and restorative justice.
The key component of this role is as the main contact point for the ACT Government's response to the National Redress Scheme that provides support and redress to survivors of institutional child sexual abuse in Australia. The role will ensure that the ACT Government undertakes the necessary research to the gather the required information in a timely manner to adhere to the legislative timeframes in responding to Requests for Information (RFIs). Another component of the role includes maintaining a database for this information and also processing of invoices to Commonwealth Department of Social Security once claims have been finalised.
This role may also involve collating and preparing general reports, submissions and correspondence, and undertaking justice-related policy and/or secretariat work across the Human Rights Branch.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
* To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.
* If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.
Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
