Job Overview
The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Patient Safety leads patient‐safety initiatives across the Tasmanian Health Service (South). The role oversees safety event monitoring, serious‐incident investigations, quality‐improvement activities, and education to strengthen safety culture. It works closely with clinical teams to improve care, reduce harm, and uphold the THS CARE values.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership to support and enhance patient safety and quality improvement across the health service.
* Coordinate safety event monitoring, lead investigations into serious incidents and facilitate the implementation and evaluation of safety and quality initiatives.
* Work closely with clinical teams to promote evidence‐based practice, manage patient feedback, analyse safety data, and deliver education and advice to drive continuous improvement and minimise patient harm.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications or working towards them.
* Current driver's licence (desirable).
Salary and Benefits
* Annual salary: $118,297 to $125,543 (pro‐rata).
* 12% superannuation contribution.
* Post‐graduate allowance up to 10% of incremental point.
