What we’re looking for
We’re seeking a commercially minded and strategic professional with experience across sports, events or venue management who can identify opportunities, build partnerships and lead sustainable growth initiatives. You’ll bring strong negotiation skills, business acumen and a collaborative approach, with the ability to work across government, industry and community stakeholders. A passion for sport, events and venue development, combined with sound financial and analytical capability, will be key to your success. You’ll be comfortable leading complex projects, influencing stakeholders and operating with a high level of autonomy while maintaining strong governance and reporting standards.
What you’ll be doing
* Developing and implementing commercial strategies to maximise the financial sustainability and commercial potential of Barlow Park
* Identifying and delivering new revenue opportunities, including sponsorships, partnerships, advertising, naming rights and leasing arrangements
* Negotiating and managing commercial and contractual agreements to ensure strong, mutually beneficial partnerships
* Driving an event and content strategy to activate the venue year-round and diversify revenue streams
* Building strategic relationships with sporting bodies, event promoters, tourism agencies, corporate clients and government partners
* Overseeing facility development initiatives in collaboration with Council and key stakeholders
* Reviewing and redeveloping Fees and Charges to ensure commercially viable wet and dry hire models
* Balancing commercial outcomes with community access and Council objectives
* Leading marketing, brand and promotional initiatives to position Barlow Park nationally and internationally
* Monitoring revenue performance, KPIs and providing strategic insights to senior management and Council
* Ensuring compliance with Council policies, governance, procurement and recordkeeping requirements
