Primary objective
Manage a work unit reporting on human resource indicators and staffing productivity while providing an efficient and
effective Onestaff, recruitment, salary support and liaison service to Katherine Hospital, including supervising the provision
of a rostering and payroll staff advisory service.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide essential system management and administration of the Onestaff rostering system.
1. Transfer rostering information from Onestaff data base to Department of Health (DOH) Personnel and Information
Payroll System (PIPS) database to ensure correct and timely payment of salary for all Katherine Hospital staff.
3. Supervise, facilitate and maintain the provision of effective business systems of recruitment and DOH PIPS database.
4. Provide a high level of training in the appropriate use of Northern Territory Government (NTG) and DOH Human
Resource systems including correct administration of staff rosters and linkages with the Hospital Budget.
5. Analyse information for statistical reporting to provide forecasting and modelling advice to hospital executive on staff
productivity, recruitment and retention.
1. Provide support to staff, the BRR Clinical Employment Service and the Staff Accommodation and Fleet teams.
2. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated management experience including the supervision of a small team and personnel management.
1. Well-developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and collaboration skills with all staff levels.
2. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, use initiative and work under pressure.
3. Demonstrated organisational and time management skills with the capacity to prioritise competing requirements while
meeting set time frames.
1. Proven ability to use information systems including Onestaff Rostering or a comparable system, a variety of Microsoft
Office Suite and data base software packages with the ability to provide reporting to inform operational decisions.
1. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret Enterprise Bargaining Agreements including determinations and other
employment related policies.
1. Demonstrated high standards of thoroughness, attention to detail and accuracy in troubleshooting, with proven analytical
and problem-solving skills and ability to research and provide practical advice on recruitment, rostering and payroll
information.
1. Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
