Position Brief – Asset Engineer
About the Role
As our Asset Engineer, you will provide specialist technical expertise to support the effective management, operation and renewal of critical water and wastewater infrastructure across the City. This includes pump stations and wastewater treatment plants that are essential to servicing a growing and vibrant community. You will ensure assets are maintained to meet required levels of service, while complying with safety, environmental and regulatory standards and supporting long term sustainability objectives. Working collaboratively within the infrastructure branch, you will deliver high level services including project management, asset management planning and technical support to enhance asset performance and operational outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Work with internal stakeholders to understand asset criticality and develop cost effective risk reduction plans.
* Ensure assets are inspected, assessed and maintained at required intervals and remain in good working condition.
* Review and validate projects and technical solutions to ensure they deliver intended business outcomes.
* Identify, plan, schedule and coordinate asset renewal projects.
* Capture business requirements, identify improvement opportunities and clearly define problems in collaboration with Business Partners.
* Provide engineering analysis, develop maintenance strategies and contribute to capital planning.
* Support field operations with technical advice, troubleshooting and incident response.
* Provide specialist engineering advice for sewer pump stations and wastewater treatment plants.
* Support the Coordinator Asset Engineering as required.
* Apply the organisation's High Performance Principles in all activities.
* Promote a strong culture of safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent and relevant experience within a utility or heavy industry environment.
* Certification of Asset Management or equivalent and relevant experience.
* Driver Licence C Car.
