Contract & Compensation
* Initial contract until mid-August 2026, with a possible extension
* Hourly rate of $49.40 to $54.80 plus super
* Approx 37 hours per week
* Office location: Townsville
Purpose of the Role
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE :
This role is ideal for someone with strong writing skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage low-risk stakeholder interactions with confidence.
As the Communication Officer you will be producing well-written communication materials such as correspondence, flyers, social media posts, and web‑page updates. Additionally, you will engage with stakeholders for low‑risk matters and respond to phone calls.
You will be joining a highly collaborative team, helping deliver critical commitments under the Northern District's QTRIP program.
Key Accountabilities
* Develop clear, well‑written communications materials including project correspondence, flyers, social media content, and web‑page updates.
* Support stakeholder engagement activities for low‑risk QTRIP projects.
* Assist with project web‑page development, updates, analytics and reporting.
* Develop and maintain The Hive web pages.
* Coordinate project flyer production and distribution.
* Draft communication responses for low‑level stakeholder enquiries.
* Maintain and update the correspondence tracker.
* Source stakeholder contact details, lot number information and update spreadsheets and the Consultation Manager.
* Assist or attend stakeholder meetings with Program Engagement Officers.
Essential Requirements
* Demonstrated experience producing high‑quality written communications, including correspondence, web content, flyers, and social media posts.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience updating and maintaining project web pages, dashboards, or digital platforms.
* Ability to manage administrative tasks such as correspondence tracking, data entry, sourcing stakeholder information, and updating the Consultation Manager or similar systems.
