The Opportunity
As a Senior Privacy Officer you will play a pivotal role in the coordination of Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 (WA) (PRIS) compliance activities in alignment with the PRIS Operating Model and as part of the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing team.
In this role you will showcase your skills in privacy policy management, policy development and implementation and relationship management and reporting by:
* Providing strategic advice and input into policies and strategies to ensure they are aligned with Department and Government priorities and directions.
* Delivering excellent customer service for the administration, maintenance, development, and enhancement of privacy processes and services
* Maintaining contemporary knowledge of the development and delivery of best practice strategies, policy and legislative change in the area of Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing.
* Undertaking assigned tasks within the Privacy Management Plan and monitors progress to ensure timely completion.
* Preparing and submitting Notifiable Information Breach reports and Data Breach statements to the Information Commissioner within legislated timeframes.
* Developing and maintaining collaborative and collegial working relationships between stakeholders, including vendors and service providers, to promote problem solving, teamwork, risk sharing, and achievement of desired outcomes.
You will be an integral part of the team that is responsible for maintaining compliance across: Information Classification within the Department (in alignment with the WA Information Classification Policy); the establishment of an Information Asset Register as a single source of truth for all Communities Information Assets; the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing (PRIS) Act 2024; and the Privacy Act 1988, to ensure that Communities avoid legal, regulatory, and reputational risks including monetary fines and penalties.
