About the role
We are looking for a Communications & Partnerships Officer to join us at an important moment of growth.
Our work is centred on strengthening regional Australia - socially, economically and sustainably. We partner with people leading businesses, organisations and communities to make sense of complexity, articulate what truly matters, and turn that clarity into practical outputs that move work forward.
No two days - or clients - are the same. Across our work, we deliver and support:
* marketing and communications strategies
* facilitated workshops and stakeholder sessions
* partnership and engagement programs
* documentary and long-form storytelling projects
* purpose-led and pro-bono projects we choose to support
This role suits someone who wants their work to mean something and who also enjoys getting things done. Someone who values integrity over hype, cares deeply about people and place, and is comfortable moving between thinking, communicating and doing.
This is a hands-on role in a small, purpose-led business. You'll work across communications, outreach, partnerships and general momentum-building, coordinating with the Founder and wider team as needed.
If you're looking for autonomy, variety and trust, and the chance to be part of work that's genuinely different, read on.
About Blue Clay Creatives
Blue Clay Creatives works at the intersection of social impact, economic development, sustainability and health. We are not a traditional marketing agency.
We partner with leaders, businesses, organisations and communities across regional, rural and remote Australia, particularly in sectors such as health, agriculture, tourism and place-based development.
Our work includes:
* designing marketing and communications strategies grounded in lived experience
* facilitating workshops that help teams and communities clarify direction
* producing documentary and storytelling projects that inform understanding and decision-making
* supporting partnerships and engagement initiatives that create social and economic benefit in place
* contributing time and expertise to passion projects we choose to support
Our work is guided by:
- integrity before outcomes
- honest, humane communication
- accountability as a shared responsibility
- care as professional rigour
- commitment to the work, not gimmicks
As we enter an exciting new chapter, we're deepening partnerships, expanding our impact, and building work that stands for health, wisdom and truth in a world increasingly driven by noise and false narratives.

About you
This role isn't about being perfect on paper. It's about how you work, what you value, and why you care.
Ideally, you'll bring:
* Clear, considered communication skills (written and verbal)
* The ability to work autonomously and take initiative and accountability
* A base understanding of website platforms like WebFlow or WordPress
* A well-rounded understanding of digital communication and social media platforms
* A good eye for design and visual presentation (you don't need to be a designer but bonus points if you are)
* A genuine love for regional Australia and the people who live and work there (required).
And importantly:
Skills can be taught.
Tools can be learned.
Care, commitment and integrity can't.
If this role speaks to you - we strongly encourage you to apply.
This role may not be the right fit if you:
* Need rigid structure, hierarchy or a large team
* Prefer very narrow role definitions
* Are uncomfortable with ambiguity or moving between thinking and doing
* Don't enjoy being proactive, visible or accountable in your work
Why this role matters
This role matters because the work matters.
You'll be contributing to projects and partnerships that shape how regional Australia grows, invests and cares for its people — and you'll be trusted to bring judgement, ideas and responsibility as the work evolves.
