Role Overview

Gympie Regional Council is looking for an exceptional customer service professional to join the casual team at the gallery. The Gallery Assistant is responsible for welcoming visitors to the Gallery, processing Gallery shop transactions, providing quality customer service, exhibition installation, and supporting other gallery staff with general administration duties and event delivery.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience in customer service and information delivery.
* Demonstrated experience in office administration and cash handling experience.
* Demonstrated experience in a cultural environment, e.g. gallery, museum, or other cultural venue.
* Demonstrated ability in communicating with a wide range of audiences.
* Current Working with children (Blue Card) or ability to acquire.
* Provision of customer service to Gallery visitors, workshop participants and hire groups to ensure positive interactions with a diverse range of clients with varying needs, whilst following established procedures and guidelines.
* Undertake accurate and timely receipting of Gallery shop transaction and daily banking reconciliation in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Provide general administrative services tasks to support gallery operations and other staff.
* Provide general event support, including catered functions, bar service, adult and youth art programs, and community engagement events and festivals.
* Assist with installation of Gallery exhibitions, including use of power tools, climbing ladders, use of elevated work platform, lifting objects and artwork handling.
* Perform other tasks as directed within the level of responsibility.
