Overview

Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Library Collections Support Officer to join our Libraries and Learning team. This role supports daily library operations across all branches and assists in the smooth and timely circulation of library materials. Key Details
* Part-time permanent position.
* 20 hours spread across 5 weekdays.
* Salary commencing at $38.45 per hour, plus 12% superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.
* Library Band 3.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive, pack, unpack and organise library materials daily for prompt circulation between libraries, internally and externally.
* Complete administration tasks as required for swift circulation of incoming and outgoing book, audiovisual and other materials.
* Provide a customer focused approach to service delivery.
* Work with Library Collections team to ensure efficient delivery of interlibrary and intralibrary loans.
Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You will demonstrate sound organisational and time-management capabilities, strong computer and technology literacy, and an understanding of the role of public libraries in the community. The role requires the ability to consistently follow procedures, including proper manual handling practices, and to problem-solve routine issues within established guidelines. Completion of Year 12 (or equivalent) is essential, with experience in a public library environment highly desirable.
