About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Forward Works Planner to join our City Plan and Transformation Unit.
This pivotal role will involve planning, developing, and reporting on Council's forward capital works program – including Development Contributions (s7.11 / s7.12) and Special Rate Variation programs.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders to ensure effective prioritization, coordination, and delivery of capital works projects that support the ongoing growth and sustainability of our community.
* Develop and maintain long-term forward works plans for Council's Development Contributions and Special Rate Variation programs.
* Prioritize and coordinate capital works projects across multiple departments.
* Monitor, measure, and report on expenditure, outcomes, and program performance.
* Prepare high-quality reports, grant applications, and presentations for senior management, Councillors, and stakeholders.
* Provide strategic advice and recommendations on capital works planning and funding.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficiency in project delivery.
About You:
You're an analytical thinker with a passion for planning and project coordination.
You enjoy working across teams and thrive in environments that require stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and strategic insight.
You'll bring:
* Tertiary qualifications in urban planning, economics, social policy, environmental planning, or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in developing strategic plans or policies .
* Strong capability in managing multiple projects with competing priorities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to think critically, plan effectively, and deliver results .
* A current Class C driver's licence .
Desirable: Experience in local government or the NSW Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework .
