Requisites
Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License. Provisional Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership is mandatory. Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) or equivalent eligibility.
Island Health’s Division of Anatomical Pathology invites applications for one Anatomical Pathologist position at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, British Columbia.
You should have a Fellowship in Anatomic Pathology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) and be eligible for licensure in British Columbia. Candidates must be excellent diagnosticians with superb interpersonal and collaborative skills. Expertise and fellowship experience in gynecological pathology are required; additional subspecialty experience in other surgical subspecialties is an asset. A minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred. Participation in group coverage of frozen section and on-call services is also required. You will be a key member of the BC Cancer Gynecological Oncology service, contributing to local rounds. A commitment to teaching is expected, including mentoring students from the Island Medical Program at the University of Victoria, residents, and physicians from various programs.
In this role, you will be eligible for appointment in the Island Health Department of Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Medical Genetics, and as an Associate of the Victoria Pathology Consulting Corporation. You may also apply for a clinical appointment with the Department of Pathology at the University of British Columbia.
