Our government client is seeking an experienced Injury and Rehabilitation Advisor to deliver injury management and return‐to‐work support for employees with both work‐related and non‐work‐related injuries, including end‐to‐end case management of injured workers.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of work and non‐work related injury and illness cases, supporting safe and timely return‐to‐work outcomes.
* Coordinate recovery and return‐to‐work plans with employees, managers, treating practitioners and the workers' compensation insurer.
* Implement early intervention strategies and address barriers to recovery through case conferences and stakeholder engagement.
* Provide advice and coaching to managers on injury management, suitable duties and rehabilitation processes.
* Conduct workplace, home environment and ergonomic assessments to support recovery and safe work practices.
* Recommend workplace adjustments, equipment and functional education (e.g. manual handling) where required.
* Maintain accurate, confidential case records and ensure compliance with workers' compensation and organisational requirements.
* Deliver education and guidance to staff and managers on injury management processes while maintaining strong professional networks with medical and allied health providers.
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications
* Accredited Rehabilitation Coordinator (or equivalent as required by the relevant NSW regulator).
* Minimum 2-5 years recent experience in workplace rehabilitation and injury case management, preferably within a workplace‐based environment.
* Strong working knowledge of the NSW workers' compensation system, legislation and regulatory requirements.
* Sound understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, regulations and best practice.
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex injury cases end‐to‐end, including developing strategies to overcome barriers and achieve return‐to‐work outcomes.
* Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills, including working with employees, managers, unions and health professionals.
* Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a team environment.
* Highly organised with the ability to maintain accurate case records and meet reporting and compliance requirements.
* Demonstrated resilience, problem‐solving capability and adaptability in a fast‐paced, reactive environment.
* Skilled in MS Office; experience with Solv Injury is preferred but not required.
Qualifications/Certifications/Licences
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or allied health‐related profession and AHPRA registration.
* Completion of the State Insurance Regulator Agency's "Return to work coordination training" online course.
* Construction White Card.
* NSW Drivers Licence.
