If youre a senior technical leader who wants influence without layers of bureaucracy, this role offers something different. As Chief Engineer of our Product and Customer Platforms portfolio, you'll help define how engineering works across Bendigo Bank.
The Chief Engineer acts as a senior technical authority working across functions and disciplines. The role provides technical leadership without direct line management responsibility and focuses on influencing outcomes across teams and domains.
You will support the evolution of engineering practices, provide guidance during complex delivery challenges, and contribute to improving technical capability across the organisation.

In this role you'll get to…
* Influence platform and system evolution.

* Provide hands-on technical guidance during complex delivery challenges.
* Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders.
* Partner closely with cross-functional teams (product, design, operations) to ensure a seamless connection between technology solutions and business objectives.
* Help shape how engineering operates within a regulated environment.
What you'll bring to the role
To be successful in the role you will have:
* Extensive and demonstrated experience as a hands-on technologist leveraging modern software engineering techniques in complex environments.
* Strong software engineering foundations and systems design capability.
* Comfort operating at all zoom levels across multiple technology stacks and platforms.
* Ability to influence senior stakeholders and align technical outcomes to business goals.
