This full‐time permanent role predominantly services multiple sites throughout the Cairns/ Innisfail and wider regions.
The main objective of the role is to maintain, repair, and retool plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, with a focus on upholding safety and maximizing production at our customer's sites.
Other duties for this role include:
* Setting and prioritising work, ensuring parts are available and labour is fully utilised
* Monitoring all downtime/uptime to increase the effectiveness of the packaging systems
* Maintaining a focus on response times and effective, timely closure of issues raised
* Ensuring all equipment is maintained to OEM run speeds and quality standards
* Maintaining a liaison with equipment and technical suppliers
* Planning and implementing the most efficient delivery of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and machine systems services to meet customer needs and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
* Strong trade‐qualified skills (e.g., fitters or turners, or other relevant trade qualifications working with heavy machinery)
* A current full driver's licence (as this role involves substantial travel)
* A positive attitude and strong focus on customer service, with an uncompromising attitude towards health & safety
* Good fitting, fabrication, and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to effectively perform preventive maintenance tasks
* The ability to work autonomously, but also enjoy being part of a team
* Strong attention to detail and communication skills (written and oral)
* Flexibility, initiative, problem‐solving skills, and a proactive mindset
* A restricted electrical licence would be viewed favourably but is not required
