We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Chef to join our culinary team at Dannebrog Lodge and coffee bar.
Our cafe caters to both local patrons and tourists, offering breakfast and lunch daily.
The role
A full-time position is available for a creative Chef with a passion for fine cuisine to join our vibrant team.
As part of your duties & responsibilities, you will:
1. Support the head chef in the daily running of the kitchen and undertake his responsibilities in case of absence.
2. Review the menu periodically and propose new dishes in accordance with seasonal products.
3. Calculate costs involved in new dishes and cost changes in existing menu.
4. Ensure junior staff perform right cooking techniques, portioning and presentation of dishes.
5. Monitor compliance of hygiene and OH&S regulations within the kitchen environment.
6. Check freshness of ingredients and products are used as per method FIFO.
The applicant
You must love what you do and also:
1. Have Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
2. Ability to produce high quality dishes under pressure and fast paced environments.
3. Solid knowledge of sanitary and OH&S regulations.
4. Flexibility to work nights, weekends and public holidays.
