Overview

Permanent full-time position in a great location. Flexible working conditions and ongoing opportunities for training and career development. Be involved in one of TMR's largest transport infrastructure programs.

Key responsibilities

* Prepare transport modelling briefs, call quotations and let tenders, and conduct negotiations with consultants and contractors.
* Plan and lead transport/traffic studies and data collection activities. Lead activities relating to maintenance and development of the region's transport models.
* Manage and report on the performance of consultants commissioned to undertake planning projects.
* Provide support and advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved.
* Manage the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model.
* Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
* Supervise and coordinate resource allocation with the expectation that you would encourage effective teamwork and foster a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
* Identify and manage networks and alliances of all stakeholders and manage the expectations and issues of all parties, including identifying possible political and high risk matters to ensure they are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.

Mandatory Qualifications And Conditions

* Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
* A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia.
* Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position.
* Desirable: Minimum five years' experience in a traffic engineering role. An understanding of transport modelling processes and software packages is an advantage.

* Applies high level understanding of traffic and transport planning principles, selects the most appropriate processes and guides others.
* Accepts decision making responsibility and demonstrates judgement about when to elevate issues. Demonstrates ability to manage competing needs and priorities, develops solutions that consider the broader regional context and aligns planning decisions with TMR's strategic objectives and vision.
* Produces high-quality reports that are clear, concise, and well-structured, ensures reports are tailored to meet customer requirements and expectations and demonstrates attention to detail and quality control in all deliverables.
* Works with the team to organise work priorities so they deliver on broader organisational commitments.
* Drives autonomy in the team by empowering others to take ownership for the delivery and quality of outcome.
