Role SummaryGeodetica is growing its communications engineering capability and is seeking experienced Communications Engineers to support complex Defence projects across Australia in the design review and assurance of communications and C4I systems. Positions will be primarily delivered on-site in Canberra, although candidates based in Sydney or Perth may also be considered.
In this role, you will operate under technical delegation from a senior engineering authority and play a key role in reviewing engineering deliverables, coordinating with Defence stakeholders, and supporting the successful integration, delivery and commissioning of communication capability within shipbuilding.
Key responsibilities include:Receive and exercise technical delegation from a senior engineering authority for the Communications Engineering discipline.Conduct design reviews of communications engineering elements associated with maritime vessels.Review and provide technical commentary on engineering deliverables, primarily within the communications engineering discipline and related technical areas.Coordinate with Defence organisations responsible for systems integration and delivery.Ensure communications engineering activities comply with relevant legislation, Defence doctrine, policies, and engineering standards.Ensure all design, integration, installation, certification, and testing activities are appropriately captured within project schedules and planning the program to meet contractual milestones and delivery schedules.Identify, manage, and report technical, environmental, and safety risks.
Qualifications, Certifications & Experience EssentialBaseline Security Clearance with the ability to obtain NV1.Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, preferably in the design or design review of communications systems, electronic systems, navigation systems, situational awareness systems, command and control systems or sensors.Previous experience holding Defence Technical Authority delegations within Land or Maritime domains.Strong understanding of Australian and International standards, regulations, and Defence requirements.DesirableDemonstrated experience in Defence acquisition or shipbuilding environments.Chartered Engineer with Engineers Australia or equivalent
