RAATISC is looking for a committed, skilled and passionate individual to join the friendly RAATSIC team as a Program Manager (Identified position) - Level 5 – Aurukun Women's Shelter - Cairns based.

Position Purpose:
The Ma'aathan Women's Shelter Aurukun provides temporary crisis supported accommodation and centre-based support activities for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence in the community of Aurukun.
The service will engage with the community to raise awareness of domestic and family violence, promote, respect, challenge community attitudes to violence and promote early intervention to prevent violence and abusive behaviour.
The Opportunity:
This position is full-time, based in Cairns and regular travel will be required.
Shelter Support includes:
* Safe and secure accommodation
* Private and confidential assistance
* Support to access to other support services (DV Connect)
* Community activities to raise awareness of domestic and family violence
* Intake hours - Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
* On-call referrals only after hours, weekends and public holidays.
About You:
* Have the ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner with First Nations women, young people, their families and communities to ensure that they have the education and resources with awareness of domestic and family violence prevention and intervention within the community.
* Understand the diversity of the community and respect community protocols.
* Provide leadership to the Aurukun Women's Shelter team, including the mentoring and management of staff and resources allocated to achieve positive outcomes, to primarily achieve prevention of domestic and family violence.
* Identify relevant professional development training to invest in the upskilling of the team and keeping them abreast of changes to Legislation and Regulation requirements.
* Have experience in community and stakeholder engagement skills, to actively participate and promote prevention of domestic and family violence with significant community events.
* Have effective time management and be a strong communicator with interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively within a team, RAATSIC program delivery services, and other support services in community.
* Resilient and empathetic, able to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
* Have high quality experience of Microsoft applications and be able to acquire use of database systems and provide quarterly reporting.
