Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and enhance the Statewide Business Intelligence platform to provide timely insights for corporate portfolios and operational areas.
* Analyse data to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges that impact business decision-making.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver high-quality solutions that meet their needs.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of processes, procedures, and code to ensure efficient maintenance and scalability.
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to drive transformational change and uncover new opportunities within our organization.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining our BI platform, providing actionable insights to inform business decisions.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as IT, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Science, or professional experience in business intelligence or data science.
* Experience in manipulating and transforming data using tools/languages such as Python, R, SSIS, Spark Pipelines, or Azure Data Factory.
* Experience in modelling and aggregating datasets using tools/languages such as Power BI, SQL, Python, R, Jupyter Notebooks, SSAS/tabular models.
* Awareness of cloud data and analytics platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
* Experience in data visualisation techniques, including use of Microsoft Power BI or similar software.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skills.
