St Michael's Association Inc. is a not-for-profit non-government organisation of approximately 230 employees working across North and Northwest Tasmania. Supporting, empowering and providing accommodation services to Tasmanian's living with a disability, to develop their independence, has been how St Michael's has operated for over 50 years. This is an exciting opportunity to join the St Michaels' team and contribute to this mission.
Job tasks and responsibilities
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and driven individual to join our Finance & Administration team.
Reporting to our Chief Financial Officer, this role serves as the first point of contact for people making inquiries and visiting St Michael's as well as providing administrative support within the St Michael's office.
To succeed in this role, you must have at least twelve months of administration experience with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and complete work accurately and on time. You will have excellent attention to detail, be a hardworking team player with a desire to learn and develop a career in Disability Services.
Skills, experience and requirements
* Minimum 12 months experience in a reception and/or administration role.
* Certificate III Business Administration qualification is required.
* Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and complete work accurately and on time.
* Discretion, sound judgement and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in Disability Services.
* Excellent administration skills including in the use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook applications.
* Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Self-starter with high levels of motivation and strong drive to learn and grow.
* Demonstrated ability and willingness to work within the policies and procedures of a human services organisation (or similar organisation).
* Ability to communicate with participants, staff, parents, external agencies and funding bodies under direction from the Services Manager whilst maintaining appropriate level of confidentiality.
* Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (or ability to obtain).
* Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
* Current Australian driver's licence is required.
