Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Create AlertPsychologist - South Coast & Tablelands Youth Justice Community Offices, Youth JusticeDivision: Northern CPPYJLocation:Nowra, NSW, AU, 2541Youth Justice Community Offices,Youth JusticeOngoing, Part time – 35 hours (5 days) per fortnightLocation: Nowra (Queanbeyan and Batemans Bay can be considered)Psychologist, Salary ($76,531 - $134,446 pro rata), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loadingThis is a targeted recruitment.While all applicants are welcome, preference will be given to candidates who meet the established standards of the role and are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait islander descent.This is because the Department acknowledges this lived experience contributes a perspective valuable to our work with this communityYour roleYouth Justice is looking for innovative and dynamic Psychologists to service their Community Offices based in Nowra, Goulburn, Queanbeyan, Batemans Bay, and Bega.Operate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering psychological assessment, intervention, and therapeutic services.Provide a consultancy service to staff regarding the psychological needs of Youth Justice clients within custodial and community locations, as well as advice to statutory authorities such as the Parole Board.What you’ll doUndertake psychological assessment, intervention, and deliver therapeutic services or programs to young people who offend, including those who sexually offend.Assist in the formulation and review of individual Risk - Needs - Responsivity based case plans for the management and supervision of young people on remand or sentenced to a custodial or community order.Deliver training to staff, including Youth Justice Caseworkers, in the screening, identification and support of young people with mental health problems, intellectual disability or cognitive impairment.Maintain confidential documentation, including electronic Case Notes on Client Information Management System, in accordance with departmental policies, APS guidelines on record keeping and professional ethics.Prepare reports, advice, and consultation to statutory authorities such as Children’s Courts, the Serious Young Offenders Review Panel, State Parole Authority, and Mental Health Review Tribunal.Be dynamic and able to think on their feet.Responsive to individual needs and situations.You will be part of a team of Youth Justice Psychologists reporting to a Clinical Manager, providing psychological support to the varied units within the Community Offices.What we’re looking forMinimum four-year accredited qualification in psychologyCurrent provisional or full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia:A current Drivers’ Licence with ability and willingness to travel throughout NSW.Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance.Appointments are subject to reference checks.
