We are seeking a motivated and detail‐oriented Senior Network Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The role requires 8+ years of total IT experience, including 5–6 years of hands‐on networking experience, and will support a global network spanning multiple data centres and 75+ office locations.
Responsibilities
* Own the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and support of enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and SD‐WAN appliances.
* Serve as an escalation point for complex (L3) network incidents; drive triage, containment, root‐cause analysis, and corrective/preventative actions.
* Participate in an on‐call rotation to support 24x7 network operations; lead incident response, stakeholder communications, and post‐incident reviews to prevent recurrence.
* Lead hands‐on office and data centre network deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting across global locations, ensuring consistent standards and repeatable outcomes.
* Create implementation plans for network changes (scope, risk, validation, and rollback) and execute changes during approved maintenance windows.
* Maintain high‐quality network documentation (diagrams, configs, standards, runbooks) that enables reliable operations and effective on‐call response.
* Partner with NetOps, DevOps, Security, and Service Desk to resolve incidents quickly, reduce repeat issues, and continuously improve network availability and performance.
* Proactively identify risk and performance issues through monitoring, log analysis, and trend review; drive remediation to prevent outages and reduce alert noise.
* Act as a hands‐on operator/SME for enterprise networking technologies including (but not limited to):
o Firewalls - Palo Alto
o SDWAN - Palo Alto Prisma
o Cisco Catalyst switches
o Wireless - Aruba controllers and access points, Clearpass
o SASE - Zscaler
o IPAM - Infoblox
o Network Management - LogicMonitor, OpenText, HPE UXI
o SIEM - Azure Log Analytics
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not‐for‐profit university or college (preferably in Computer Science or a related field) or equivalent practical experience.
* 8+ years of hands‐on experience supporting and operating enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/WLAN and security).
* Deep expertise in core networking technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing/switching fundamentals, and secure VPN architectures.
* Extensive hands‐on experience operating enterprise networking platforms including Cisco (switching), Aruba (wireless/NAC), Palo Alto (firewalls/Prisma SD‐WAN), and equivalent technologies.
* Proven, methodical troubleshooting skills for complex enterprise network issues, including clear incident documentation, root‐cause analysis, and preventative follow‐up.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, prioritise competing work, and take end‐to‐end ownership of production issues to resolution.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
* One or more relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP/CCNA, Aruba ACMP/ACMA, Palo Alto PCNSE, or equivalent).
* Experience supporting enterprise Wi‐Fi and LAN/WAN environments.
* Experience operating network monitoring/observability platforms (e.g., LogicMonitor, PRTG, SolarWinds) including alert tuning, dashboards, and proactive health reporting.
* Familiarity with hybrid connectivity and cloud networking concepts (AWS/Azure), including VPN connectivity, routing, and security controls.
* Experience with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) or secure access solutions (e.g., Zscaler, Netskope, Cloudflare, Cato Networks).
* Experience working in environments with ticketing systems and change management processes.
* Experience writing scripts in Python and/or implementing Ansible in an enterprise environment (automation, validation, or configuration management).
