At Brooks Airways, we specialise in remote aviation solutions including FIFO transport, medevac operations, and charter services across regional WA and mine sites. We are seeking a highly organised Flight Operations Assistant to support the daily function of our flight operations team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of all flights, including time-critical medical evacuations and mine site transfers.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative & Compliance Support
* Maintain and manage accurate records including flight logs, pilot rosters, crew duty times, aircraft maintenance documentation, and medevac readiness logs
* Ensure all documentation aligns with CASA regulatory requirements and internal safety protocols
* Prepare and distribute essential pre-flight documentation such as manifests, weather briefs, NOTAMs, and flight schedules
Flight Coordination
* Support the daily scheduling and dispatch of flights, ensuring alignment with operational priorities across mine sites and emergency medical evacuations
* Liaise with pilots, engineers, mine site contacts, and healthcare partners to coordinate crew logistics and ensure seamless execution of flight plans
* Monitor flight activity and report delays or operational concerns in real time
Crew and Logistics Management
* Assist in the preparation of crew rosters and track compliance with fatigue management policies
* Coordinate accommodation, transport, and site access for crew operating in remote locations
* Maintain up-to-date records of crew licences, medicals, and mandatory training
Communication & Stakeholder Support
* Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day operational queries from internal teams, healthcare providers, and site-based personnel
* Assist in the coordination of rapid-response medevac missions, including dispatch support and follow-up documentation
* Contribute to emergency preparedness and post-incident reporting processes
Qualifications & Experience:
* Prior experience in aviation administration, charter operations, or flight dispatch (mining or medevac background highly regarded)
* Sound understanding of aviation regulations, including CASA standards
* High-level computer skills and experience with operational software and MS Office Suite
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage time-critical tasks
Preferred Attributes:
* Certificate in Aviation Operations, Flight Dispatch, or related field
* Knowledge of FIFO scheduling, remote logistics, or emergency response procedures
* Strong attention to detail, discretion, and a proactive team-oriented mindset
* Flexibility to support operations outside of standard business hours when required
