A bit about the role

As a Rates Operations Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Council's property and rates records. You'll work closely with internal teams and ratepayers to manage property acquisitions, maintain the Name and Address Register, respond to customer enquiries, and support critical functions like electoral roll preparation and daily banking.

This is a detail-focused role where your contributions will directly support operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and compliance with local government legislation.

What you'll deliver

* Maintain and update ratepayer and property records, including the Name and Address Register (NAR).
* Process property acquisitions and ownership changes, ensuring data accuracy and timely follow-up.
* Respond to customer enquiries related to rates and property matters within service level timeframes.
* Support the preparation of the electoral roll and assist with banking and financial processes.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate across departments to enhance service delivery.

What you'll bring

* Experience in local government rates or property administration, with knowledge of relevant legislation.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage data accurately.
* Excellent customer service skills, with a professional and empathetic approach.
* Clear communication and teamwork abilities across departments and stakeholders.
* Proactive and organised, with strong problem-solving and time management skills.
* Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
* A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
