Job Description
A Food Service Assistant plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality food services to patients, residents, and functions as required. This includes accurately assembling tray supplies and food on tray lines, regenerating meals, and preparing patient menu items in accordance with meal production requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering Burlodge trolleys and cleaning patient trays
* Accurately assembling tray supplies and food on tray lines
* Regenerating of meals for patients, residents, and functions as required
* Preparing patient menu items in accordance with meal production requirements
* Cleaning kitchen and equipment
* Delivering, distributing, and collecting all patient/resident food requirements and meal trays according to specific clinical requirements
* Stripping, sorting, sanitizing, and cleaning all trays, cutlery, and utensils
* Completing all food safety documentation in a timely manner
Personal Qualities

Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:
* A current Food Handlers Certificate - Level 1
* A Food Handling Certificate (SITXFSA001) - Use hygienic practices for food safety
* A comprehensive understanding of diet codes, texture-modified foods and fluids, food allergies, and intolerances
* An established knowledge of Monash Health processes and procedures
* The ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying, and manual handling
* Basic to intermediate computer skills
